The Value of Hard Work for the DAMAC Owner

Hussain Sajwani learned early in life that hard work pays off, but as a schoolboy working for his entrepreneur father, he voiced his displeasure many times about the long hours. Little did he dream that the long hours that he worked as a boy would give him much in the way of experience.

As things turned out, young Hussain did grow up to be a businessman, just like his father, but Hussain became many times more successful. As founder of DAMAC Properties, Inc. one of the largest real estate development companies in the United Arab Emirates, Sajwani has paved the way for real estate in the region.

Sajwani got his start by starting when he formed a catering company which sold meals to the United States Army and other contractors. From that experience, he learned a lot about running a larger organization and dealing with diverse operations within a company. That company was a great success and is still in operation successfully today.

When Sajwani learned that the UAE had allowed foreign nationals to purchase property and live in the UAE, he saw a tremendous opportunity and formed DAMAC. He started to buy land on which to build living accommodations such as apartments and condominiums. His goal was to build the very best high-end facilities possible. In fact, one of his marketing slogans was, “A Bently with Every Apartment.”

He was a very aggressive promotor and the quality of his product was exceptional. Word got around that DAMAC properties were the ones to buy, and there were lots of people coming into the UAE with the money to purchase his properties.

Sajwani (@hussainsajwani) always purchases land with cash, so no one can foreclose on him, no matter what the situation. With land, one can always start over, if need be. He also keeps a separate accounting and bank account on each property so every project stands on its own.

Today, Hussain Sajwani is a well-known real estate entrepreneur who owns and manages properties from London, Paris, and all over the Middle East. He is looking at possible expansion opportunities into Saudi Arabia and other possible regions within the Middle East. Checkout Sajwani’s official YouTube channel.
